As a Certified Webster Technique practitioner, Dr. Osmer is specialized to work with women during their pregnancy.

From the ICPA Website:

“The Webster protocol is a specific chiropractic sacral analysis and diversified adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation/SI joint dysfunction. In so doing neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis is improved.”

Dr. Osmer has found this technique, as well as other chiropractic techniques, to be effective treatments for pelvic pain, sciatica, round ligament pain, mid back and neck pain, and headaches experienced due to the changes in posture during pregnancy.

By removing interference due to malposition of the pelvis, the baby carried within the mother’s womb is able to get into the best position possible for labor and delivery. Babies begin to get into position as early as 27-32 weeks of gestation, therefore, it is recommended that women begin treatment before this time to support this process.

As a BIRTHFIT Regional Director (BIRTHFIT Grand Rapids), Dr. Osmer also provides prenatal education in the form of group classes as the BIRTHFIT Prenatal Series or in one on one visits called BIRTHFIT Consultations. During these sessions, women and their partners are coached on prenatal nutrition, exercise, mindset strategies, and postpartum planning.
