Eighty seven. This is the number of pregnant mamas who came through our office and were seen throughout their entire pregnancy. At the beginning of 2018, I thought it would be fun to have a Guess Date Calendar in my office. I loved seeing it hanging on my wall with the names and guess dates. I also started tracking the outcomes of these deliveries…early, late, c-section, vaginal deliveries, names of babies (I am getting some inspo for future reference btw :)).
I wish I had done this in 2016 when I started FLOW, but better late than never, right?
I am totally a numbers person in the sense of quantitatively measuring progress. Progress in this sense means serving as many women and their families as possible with effective care every time they come into the office. Some days that is an adjustment, some days that means talking about fears, and some days that just means holding space and allowing mom to be fully where she is at.
Starting out 2019, I already have 23 Guess Dates on my Calendar, some of which are women who I was able to work with during a previous pregnancy and they are back! Whoa, that blew me away the first time it happened.
Opening your own practice can be scary. When I told people what I wanted my practice to look like (specialize in pregnancy and postpartum) I was told that that demographic was too small and it wouldn’t work.
Well let me tell you, I truly believe being hyperfocused is what built my practice, as well as the trust you all have in my abilities to help you and your loved ones.
I can’t wait to see what growth happens in 2019! Hope you will join me on the ride :)
