Dr. Theresa Osmer, BS, DC
Owner / Chiropractic Physician
Regional Director of Birthfit Grand Rapids
Dr. Osmer received her Doctor of Chiropractic from National University of Health Sciences near Chicago, Illinois. She has additional post-graduate training in pre-natal and postpartum care, pediatrics, functional rehabilitation, ergonomics, athletic taping, and lifestyle medicine. She was trained as a prenatal yoga instructor through Blooma's Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training and was the first Michigan Regional Director for BIRTHFIT.
Born and raised in Michigan, Dr. Osmer grew up in Owosso, MI. She is the oldest of 5 girls! She attended Michigan State University (Go Green!) for her Human Biology degree with a specialization in Bioethics and Humanities. Coming from a long line of medical professionals, she always had a love for the "art" of healing. Combining this with her passion for athletics and healthy eating, Chiropractic was a natural fit.
Following graduation, Dr. Osmer and her husband moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan. She started in practice under the mentorship of Dr. Karen May in Mason, Michigan for her first 5 years in practice. During this time, Dr. Osmer was able to develop her knowledge and skill set to effectively manage a wide variety of patients. Her treatment style is strongly based in restoring health by utilizing non-invasive therapies, such as nutritional counseling, vitamin and mineral supplementation, various myofascial release techniques, and chiropractic manipulation.
FLOW Chiropractic was developed out of a passion to bring this knowledge and skill set to the people of West Michigan. Dr. Osmer wholeheartedly believes in “Doctor as teacher” and that education can empower people to live optimally.
Outside of FLOW, Dr. Osmer is very involved in her Grand Rapids community including Junior League, Grand Rapids Community Foundation as a 100 New Philanthropist, and supporting local small businesses.
In her free time, Dr. Osmer enjoys spending time with her family (including her Golden Retriever, Roubaix-Salsa), working out at Crossfit 616 or on the yoga mat at Renew Mama Studio, running (annual Riverbank Run 25K participant!), cooking, and traveling.
Bethany attended Grand Valley State University for her Secondary Education English/ Psychology Bachelor’s Degree. Growing up surrounded by educators, this path seemed like the natural choice. Bethany loves her job because she gets to help the next generation learn how to love learning and reading. And while she loves teaching literature, her passion lies with helping and guiding others, whether that is a whole classroom of students or just one person at a time.
Family is very important to her, so when the chance arose to work for her oldest sister, Bethany jumped at it. She works for FLOW Chiropractic as the office assistant where she helps schedule clients, takes care of any paperwork/ filing, and answers any questions or emails. She has also been able to see firsthand the work that Dr. Osmer does, and the invaluable relationships she builds with her clients of all ages. “I have never seen little kids so excited to walk into a doctor’s office before. It is a very cool thing to see.”
In her free time, Bethany enjoys playing tennis and soccer (her two favorite sports), spending time with family and friends, baking, exploring new places in her community with her husband, Bradley, and traveling.
